Project Initiation Process formally defines and authorizes a project. Since a project isn't defined or authorized until the completion of the initiation process, all work during this process is performed outside of the scope of the project. Our project initiation templates are created by PMI PMP certified project managers and are based on the PMBOK Guide - Fourth Edition.

Each of these project initiation templates provides you with document formatting, guidance on writing each section, standard verbage where it can be standardized and sample text. The guidance is written in green; whereas, values and text you need to insert is written in blue and surrounded in brackets (i.e. <Delivery Date>).

Project Initiation Templates:

Project Charter Template
The Project Charter formally authorizes a project. It is required before any project work can be started.

Preliminary Project Scope Statement
The Preliminary Project Scope Statement is created after the Project Charter has been signed. It is completed during the Initation Phase and helps to ensure the successful planning of the project..
